CACTI Train-the-Trainer NYC 2018
This past November, the CACTI team welcomed 9 trainees to our New York City CTI Train-the-Trainer (TTT) Event, led by our Director of CTI Global Network, Sally Conover, MPH, and CACTI Trainer and Consultant, Bebe Smith, MSW. Already practicing Critical Time Intervention and representing 5 states from Utah to Pennsylvania, our trainees completed the two-day training and are now Certified CTI Trainers. The participants shared the unique work that they are doing with CTI and lauded the collaborative and supportive environment of the training: “the small group with diverse backgrounds allowed for great discussions” and “I enjoyed hearing the experiences of my peers working with CTI in the small group setting.”
Having a certified CTI trainer on staff allows agencies to cost-effectively maintain the current practice of CTI when new staff are hired, grow the infrastructure when programs are expanded, and monitor implementation regularly. At CACTI, we’re very excited to see what these trainers will do next and what they will bring back to their own communities. After the success and enthusiasm from this past event, the CACTI team is hoping to provide more opportunities for future Train-The-Trainer events in the new year.
